At RootedHeart, poetry is more than just writing poems. It is a way of being present in the world, of paying attention, and of expressing what is often unsaid. A great poem asks a question and carries a secret message for the reader within.

When a poem is submitted for publishing, it is often required that the poem has never been publicly shared or published prior. My hope is that this first published poem “Hug the Earth”, which was featured in Kelp Book’’s Ocean Poetry Anthology in 2025, will eventually not stand alone.
